Hi, Jennifer here, from Love Your Life + Law of Attraction. I’m coming to you with a special episode, and you can probably guess why.

We are living in interesting times right now and over the past week I think I’ve experienced every emotion on the emotional scale.

  • Appreciation for those I love.
  • Empowerment from what modern technology allows me to do.
  • Freedom because I work from home.
  • Positive expectation about my fellow humans moving through this together with care and kindness and compassion.

Those are high vibe emotions, aren’t they? Have you been thinking thoughts that allow you to feel any of those high vibe emotions the past few days?

Because I’m here to share that if I don’t manage my mind, I plummet right down to the bottom of that emotional scale.

First it was disappointment about things being cancelled. Yoga classes and Pilates sessions. A trip we had planned to Detroit to stay at the Shinola Hotel and see a Red Wings hockey game. Live performances we had tickets for here in Ann Arbor.

Then it was frustration and unease at not being able to buy things online and have them delivered like I normally do.

And it then was worry and fear at all kinds of worst-case scenarios I won’t give airtime to because dwelling in those thoughts isn’t helpful.

Thoughts that make you feel lousy are not productive right now. Living from a place of fear and anxiety is not useful. It does not protect you. It does not keep you safe.

Feeding thoughts that cause you to feel fear and anxiety are only going to make you feel bad and lower your vibration.

  • When I think that I am doing X, Y, or Z because it’s helping Hans and me be prepared, I feel empowered.
  • When I think I am doing X, Y, or Z because of some imagined worst case scenario, I feel fear.

Here’s what I want to offer: There has never been a better time to manage your mind.

There has never been a more important time to intentionally and deliberately think thoughts that give you relief. To think on purpose.

Now, you may not always make it to the top of the emotional scale. And you might not stay there if you do. That’s OK. But there is nothing to be gained by hanging out at the bottom of the emotional scale in fear and powerlessness and despair.

I have gone up and down the emotional scale over the last few days. I have indulged in thoughts that created a lot of fear and anxiety in me. I have gotten hooked into the vibration of the collective in ways that have not served me.

And do you know what I do when this happens?

First, I notice. That is always the first step. Pay attention to your Emotional Guidance System. Let negative emotion be your signal. So first I notice. And how do I notice? Well, that’s easy—I feel terrible!

Next, I forgive myself fast. I forgive my misalignment. It’s OK to be out of alignment, but I’m choosing not to stay there.

And then… I use the tools in my LoA toolkit.

Here’s what I’ve been doing:

  • I reach for better-feeing thoughts and if that isn’t working, I distract myself.
  • I lean into appreciation and notice everything in my life that is working and is right.
  • I give thanks, often. The more the better.
  • I offer love to those in my immediate sphere and to all my fellow humans.
  • I put my thoughts and attention and focus on what is wanted, not what-is.
    I am hyper-aware of what I am making circumstances mean with my thoughts.

For instance, I can see all the closings and cancellations as the sky is falling or I can choose to see that as an important step in flattening the curve of this thing. I can choose to see the closings and cancellations as a move toward our collective wellness.

The sky is falling fills me with fear and powerlessness. That we are taking steps toward Well-Being fills me with hope.

One of the ways you can take care of yourself right now is to tend to your own vibration.

  • If you are taking in news 24/7 and feeling fear and anxiety, I encourage you to dial it down. I’m certainly not telling anyone what to do or not to do. But I am encouraging you to tend to your vibration now more than ever.
  • If you are talking with others about all the imagined worst-case scenarios and feeling powerless, I encourage you to shift your focus.
  • If you are judging others for their under reaction or over reaction during this time, how about sending them love instead?

We all have an opportunity right now to add to the collective vibration from a place of love rather than fear.

You won’t do that perfectly. Or at least I’m certainly not doing it perfectly. But that is my intention.

My intention is to lead my own mind during this time from a place of love. To manage my mind in ways that serve me. To notice when I’m indulging in thoughts that make me feel lousy and, as best I can, to shift my focus.

Now more than ever, I want to pay attention to what’s working and what’s right. I want to notice beauty in the world. I want to love and appreciate. I want to have positive expectation about what the future holds for all of us.

This past week, with all that is going on in the world, I’ve wondered about this podcast. In fact, I had a dark night of the soul sort of moment where I questioned the show’s importance, its relevance.

I thought about examples I’ve used on the show of wanting a more fulfilling job or more money in the bank, and they suddenly seemed trivial. Or if not trivial, at least not what’s really important. And perhaps they aren’t. I don’t know.

But I’ve come to realize this: I get to choose how I show up in my life and in the world right now. I get to choose what I contribute. I get to choose what I offer to the collective vibration.

I want to contribute love rather than fear. I want to contribute joy rather than despair.

Creating this show each week is a joy in my life. And I want to vibrate with joy now more than ever.

And I hear from many of you who are listening telling me the show is an important uplift in your day. That you enjoy this time we spend together. That mine is a friendly and familiar voice that helps raise your vibration. In a time of uncertainty, that’s more important than ever!

And so, the show will go on! And I will continue to align, over and over again, with Abraham’s message of All is Well.
