Before my obsession with all things Law of Attraction, I would have proudly said I could spot a problem from a mile away. I would have said that problem-solving was one of my talents, something I was really good at.
I was always on the lookout for problems and I thought this was a good thing because I was so skilled at solving them.
I now know through the lens of Law of Attraction that my identity as a master problem solver simply meant I was living in the frequency of problems. I was actually attracting problems to me.
Yes, problems to be solved, but problems nonetheless.
Since my re-discovery of Law of Attraction, I have such a different outlook and attitude about problems. I no longer identify as a master problem solver.
Quite simply, I am not interested in problems.
These days, I have taken to heart this from Abraham:
“We want you to get 100% out of the problem-solving mode, because the problem-solving mode is always the blocking mode, it’s always the resistant mode. The problem-solving mode always clouds your receptivity, and your receptivity is the only thing that you’re reaching for.” —Abraham
Wow! There’s no gray here.
Problem-solving mode always blocks, always clouds receptivity, is always the resistant mode.
Now, how can that be? When so many of us have been running around encountering problems, focusing on them, and solving at least some of them. Or at least spending a lot of time and energy trying to solve them.
Abraham is not saying that you can’t solve problems. You can. You have. You will again.
The point here is that being in problem-solving mode blocks, resists, being in receiving mode.
So the pre-LoA version of me did, indeed, solve problems, but it was a very manual and efforting way to live. The much more ease-filled and magical way to live is by being in receiving mode and aligning with solutions, aligning vibrationally with your desires.
“The connection is what’s important. Not solving that problem. If you can sustain the connection for a little while, the problem will evaporate.” —Abraham
This is because “the problem and the solution are two very different frequencies. So as long as you are still focused upon the problem, you are disallowing the solution.” —Abraham
“The realization that something is not as you want it to be is an important first step, but once you have identified that, the faster you are able to turn your attention in the direction of a solution, the better, because a continuing exploration of the problem will prevent you from finding the solution. The problem is a different vibrational frequency than the solution—and all thoughts (or vibrations) are affected by (or managed by) the Law of Attraction.” —Abraham
So when a problem comes on your radar. That’s ok. Nothing has gone wrong.
But what you want to do rather than focusing on the problem, talking about the problem, trying to solve the problem, you want to get off the problem frequency altogether. You want your radar to shift to the solution, to what is wanted, to what you do desire.
“You cannot notice what-is and complain about it, and be a vibrational match to the solution. When you were living the problem, you were asking for the solution, and Source said yes immediately. So, there’s never a reason for you to be wallowing around in a problem for more than about a second. You can get so good at this that before you’re even aware that the problem has gotten started, you’ve already got the solution underway.” —Abraham
I definitely used to wallow around in the problem.
At the time, I certainly wouldn’t have characterized it this way. I thought you had to think about the problem to solve the problem. You would have found me talking about the problem in an attempt to solve the problem. I would mull that problem over, chew on it, maybe ruminate a little…
So yes, I definitely wallowed around in problems for way more than a second.
Now I can see that identifying the problem is just this very temporary jumping off point.
These days when a problem surfaces in my life, I immediately and very consciously think about wanting to be in vibrational alignment with the solution.
Think about it this way: Any problem that you have is simultaneously launching a rocket of desire for what you do want, for the solution. And that desire—your desire—has been vibrationally created. When you asked, Source said yes.
Abraham is saying to be a vibrational match to that solution means to turn your attention and your thoughts in that direction. You want to be offering a vibration that aligns with the solution, not the problem.
Again, problem and solution are two very different frequencies.
“Be less intensely focused on the problem or the question, and feel more anticipation of the solution and the answer.” —Abraham
You may not know exactly what the solution is. And you don’t need to know. In other words, you may not know the precise package that the Universe will deliver your solution in.
But you definitely know how you want to feel. You know the feeling of that solution, of that solved problem. To be in receptivity for that solution, in other words, to be in receiving mode, means to feel that way now. Which is going to be some flavor of feeling good.
Problems don’t feel good.
So if you’re experiencing negative emotion, you are likely still focused on the problem. Still vibrationally aligned with the problem.
“The only way to solve a problem is to look toward the solution. And when you are looking in the direction of the solution, you always feel an improvement in your emotions.” —Abraham
That’s how you can tell if you’re attention in on the problem or the solution—by how you feel.
“Every subject is really two subjects, with what is wanted on one end of the stick, and the absence of what is wanted on the other end. Sometimes you are a perfect vibrational match to the unwanted end of the stick, but you don’t realize it because it feels normal to you. And that is only because it is more usual for you to talk about the problem rather than the solution.” —Abraham
The first time I encountered this quote, it was such a wake up call for me.
Because I realized it was more than usual for me to talk about the problem rather than the solution. Part of my master problem-solving behavior was that I could talk somewhat endlessly about the nature of the problem, looking at it from all sides, considering it from every angle.
I say this with a lot of self compassion because I didn’t know any better.
These days I understand that I want to be a vibrational match to what is wanted. I want that to be the norm.
I’m sure that’s what you want to.
Ask yourself: Does it feel normal to talk about the problem?
Does it feel normal to you to talk about what you don’t want and what you don’t like? Is it more usual for you to talk about the problem rather than the solution?
“A lot of people wake up in a problem-solving mode, but they’re still focused on the problem. When you wake up in a solution-discovery mode, life becomes an adventure.” —Abraham
I would encourage you to think about your relationship to problems and problem-solving. Have you also considered yourself a master problem solver? Do you wake up in problem-solving mode?
One of the core tenets of Law of Attraction is to look for what you want to see. If you are on the lookout for problems, you will find problems.
Now here’s the thing. I live in the real world too. I know that problems exist. You know that problems exist.
Law of Attraction isn’t saying that problems don’t exist. But to use LoA to your advantage, you want to shift your mindset from problem-solving mode to solution-discovery mode.
“Don’t try to clear out clogged pipes. Just lay new pipes.” —Abraham
Isn’t that a fun way to look at it?
Yes, you may encounter clogged pipes. That’s contrast, a natural and inevitable part of life. There’s no need to unclog those pipes. Simply lay some new ones!
