“Once you have practiced the vibration of what’s in your Vortex long enough that you own the frequency of it, and there is no gap between you right here where you stand and the vibrational reality in your Vortex—then those objects, those relationships, those desires, those answers, those solutions that you have been asking for will flow seamlessly, in perfect timing, into your experience.” —Abraham
That sounds really good, doesn’t it? The objects and relationships and desires that you’ve been asking for flowing into your reality. The answers and solutions you’ve been wanting flowing into your experience.
In other words, you manifesting all that you have wanted.
And how do you make that happen? Abraham says by practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex. OK, that sounds simple enough.
But what is this Vortex and how do you practice the vibration of what’s in it?
Let’s start here: The Vortex is a metaphor for understanding a Law of Attraction concept.
Very simply, the Vortex is where everything you want is.
Abraham uses the term Vortex to help us understand where our wants and desires “live” before they manifest. So your Vortex is where all your desired manifestations are vibrationally before they manifest in the physical realm.
All the objects and relationships and desires, all the answers and solutions you’ve asking for are in your Vortex..
A core concept of Law of Attraction is when you ask, it is given. The Universe automatically and immediately creates what you ask for. The Vortex holds everything you’ve asked for—vibrationally. You can’t see it or touch it yet, but it’s there.
“So there is this Vortex of becoming—a Vortex that contains all of the requests, all of the amended requests, each and every detail of each and every asking that has emanated from you—and the Law of Attraction is responding to that. The Vortex is literally drawing in all things necessary for the completion of every request it contains. All cooperative components are being summoned and are coming for the completion of these creations, for the answering of these questions, and for the solutions to these problems.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
I get goose bumps thinking about all those cooperative components being summoned.
So what you have asked for exists as a vibrational reality. To bring a possibility that exists in the quantum field into your reality in a touch it, see it, smell it, taste it way, you have to get in the Vortex. You have to become a vibrational match to what you’ve asked for.
Another way to say this is: You have to get in alignment. Being in alignment is the way you manifest what you want in life.
To get the things you want—the shiny pennies, the goals, the experiences, the states of being—to get anything and everything you want requires that you get in the Vortex.
To align vibrationally with the vibration of what’s in your Vortex.
“Once you begin to believe or expect good-feeling things to come—you’re in the Vortex. And once you get in there, now you are a cooperative component. Now you get to rendezvous with all of the good stuff that you have put there, and you can train yourself there—you can do it in a day. You have control of everything that rendezvouses with you when you get control of the Vibration that you offer, and you get control of the Vibration that you offer when you care about how you feel.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
If you are interested in learning more about the Vortex, there’s a great resource you’ll want to check out. Many of the quotes from this post are from the Getting into the Vortex card deck.
And while I’m at it, let me mention another helpful resource if you want to deepen your understanding of this LoA concept, and that is Love Your Life #063: Here’s how to get in the Vortex.
“If your life has caused you to ask for an improved situation—no matter what it is—and you are no longer offering chronic thought-Vibrations that are opposite of your desire, your desire must come to you. But you cannot continue to keep alive within you Vibrational patterns of what you do not want, and receive what you do want. That defies the Law of Attraction.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
I can imagine your life has caused you to ask for an improved situation.
Perhaps something you want to be different at work or in a relationship. Perhaps you want an improvement in your health or finances.
Allowing what you want to come to you means offering a vibration that is in alignment with your desire. Said the opposite way, which is what too many of us are doing: You cannot manifest what you want when the vibration you offer is inconsistent with your desire.
- If you want abundance and are offering the vibration of lack and scarcity, abundance cannot come into your experience.
- If you want good health and are offering the vibration of worry and fear, good health cannot come into your experience.
“The Vortex is attainable, and it’s attainable today. The Vortex is attainable, and it’s attainable in 5 minutes. The Vortex is attainable. It’s not a big dream.” —Abraham
That’s what I want you to think and feel—that the Vortex is attainable. That you can do this.
Hopefully you now understand why you would want to practice the vibration of what’s in your Vortex. That alignment—and closing that vibrational gap—is the way you get all the things you’ve been asking for.
And now it’s time to move from why to how.
To do that, I want to share seven ideas—each of which is a way to start today practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex.
Beginning with…
#1: Make peace with today.
“It may sound odd, but the fastest way to get to a new-and-improved situation is to make peace with your current situation. By making lists of the most positive aspects you can find about your current situation, you then release your resistance to the improvements that are waiting for you. But if you rail against the injustices of your current situation, you hold yourself in Vibrational alignment with what you do not want, and you cannot then move in the direction of improvement. It defies Law.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
It’s this simple: Making peace with your current situation will allow the new and improved situation you desire.
Abraham offers a way to make peace with today, and that is make a list of the most positive aspects of your current situation. Instead of focusing on all that is wrong, and as Abraham says, railing against the injustices of your current situation, make a list of positive aspects. Make lists of what’s working and what you like.
#2: Praise what you want when you see it.
“If you seek financial well-being for yourself—you must praise it wherever you see it. If you would like more abundance for yourself, personally, or for others you care about—you must not criticize those who are experiencing abundance. When you criticize or condemn or push against anything, you activate an opposing Vibration to what you seek. Every time. No exceptions.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
While Abraham mentions abundance, the idea is the same anytime you encounter what it is you are wanting to manifest.
- If your colleague buys the big home and you want a bigger house, be happy for your colleague.
- If your best friend gets engaged and you want to be married, be thrilled for her.
Stop with the compare and despair. You know, when you see someone who has what you want and you feel bad. Where’s mine? Why don’t I have it? Why is it taking so long? Instead of compare and despair, start noticing and praising whenever you encounter something you would like for yourself.
#3: Do not try to control the uncontrollable.
“We want you to reach the place where you are willing…not just willing, determined…not just determined, eager…to let go of the need of control of things that are uncontrollable—like what anybody else is doing—and give your undivided attention to the only thing you can control, which is how you feel in any given circumstance.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
So much of our negative emotion is the result of trying to control the uncontrollable. Particularly, as Abraham says, trying to control what anybody else is doing.
I want to clearly connect the dots here—when you try to control the uncontrollable, you are preventing yourself from being in the Vortex. Plain and simple. So long as you are trying to control others, what you are really doing is getting in the way of manifesting what you want.
So what about it? Are you trying to control some person or situation or are you giving your undivided attention to controlling how you feel? It’s one or the other.
Trying to control someone else keeps you out of the Vortex. Controlling how you feel in a given circumstance puts you in your Vortex.
#4: Adopt this mindset: Life is supposed to be good for me.
“That is our strongest message to you: Life is supposed to be good for you. Do your best to find the best of the positive aspects that surround you. Look for things to appreciate, even if there aren’t that many. Look for things to feel good about. Give your attention, as best you can, to the best things that are going on in your experience, with the determination to train yourself into the best-feeling Vibration that you can find right here and now.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
While this is, once again, about looking for positive aspects, it’s more than that. This mindset—Life is supposed to be good for me—trains you to look for what’s right and notice what’s working. This mindset is how you train yourself to notice and focus on what you want rather than on what you don’t.
Now, you might not have thought you were walking around with the opposite mindset, which I guess would be something like, My expectation is life will pretty much suck a lot of the time. No, you might not be showing up vibrationally like that, but are you truly showing up as the vibrational embodiment of the belief: Life is supposed to be good for me?
This mindset has you vibrating positive expectation, which most definitely puts you in the Vortex.
#5: Appreciate…then appreciate some more.
“The key to getting inside your Vibrational Vortex of Creation—of experiencing the absolute absence of resistance; of achieving complete alignment with all-that-you-have-become and all that you desire, and of bringing to your physical experience everything that you desire—is being in the state of appreciation. And there is no more important object of attention to which you must flow your appreciation that that of self.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
Appreciation is at the very top of the emotional scale. It’s the highest vibration there is. So you can imagine that when you tap into the emotion of appreciation, you are offering a vibration that aligns with all the desires, all good stuff in your Vortex.
Notice Abraham specifically calls out self-appreciation.
Many of us are pretty good at appreciating what we have and appreciating the people in our lives. But too many are not flowing appreciation to themselves. And that means there is a vibrational gap.
If you are not appreciating you, it means you are not practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex. When I say not appreciating yourself, that often shows up as negative self-talk, self-directed judgment, criticism, fault-finding, blame.
When you judge and criticize yourself, when you find fault and blame yourself, you are creating resistance. That resistance then keeps what you desire from manifesting into your physical experience.
Appreciation, including self-appreciation, means you are practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex.
#6: Care about feeling good.
“How do you get in the vortex? You reach for the best feeling thought you can find.” —Abraham
Practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex necessarily means feeling good. Because the vibration of what you desire IS a feel-good vibration.
Too many of us are just way too willing to think thoughts that don’t feel good.
The only consequence of that might seem like no big deal—as in you simply don’t feel good in the moment as you think the thought. But there is a bigger, more far-reaching consequence. When you are willing to think thoughts that don’t feel good, you are not practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex.
“There are things in your environment—that you believe—that match what you want. And there are all kinds of things in your environment that you believe that defy what you want. How would you ever sort them out? How do you know the active beliefs within you that serve you well and the active beliefs that do not serve you? How do you know the beneficial beliefs from the detrimental ones? The beneficial beliefs feel better when you think them. The detrimental ones feel worse when you think them.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
I love that simple distinction between beneficial beliefs versus detrimental beliefs: Beneficial beliefs feel better when you think them.
We so often overcomplicate this. The beliefs that serve you and align with what’s in your Vortex feel good. That’s really all you need to know about which beliefs to feed and which ones to starve.
This brings me to idea #7 for practicing the vibration of what’s in your Vortex. This is such a good one! And it is…
#7: Be easy about it.
“There has been a theme unfolding here of replacing flawed premises with Law-based premises. And we would like to leave you with a final one: We all make too much of all of this. It is simpler than we all make it out to be. Be easy about it. Be kind to yourself. Do things that feel fun. Look for things that bring you relief, and just easily move into that place (your Vortex) where all things that you want have already been lined up for you.” —Getting into the Vortex Cards
This is such a relief to remember: Be easy about it. Every now and again I can feel myself trying at Law of Attraction. Trying is the energy of efforting. Trying puts me on a vibrational path away from what I want.
I love the reminder to be easy about it. To be kind to myself. To do things that feel fun. So incredibly simple. And so I encourage you to do the same—and as Abraham says look for things that bring relief and just easily move into your Vortex.
“When I’m in the Vortex I feel ease about life. When I am in the Vortex it’s like the Universe cooperates with me. When I’m in the Vortex I know my goodness because it sort of surrounds me.” —Abraham
