If you’ve been into Law of Attraction for any time at all, you know how important vibration is to manifesting.
“What you think about activates a vibration within you.” —Abraham
And then Law of Attraction responds to that vibration. Responds as in matches you with circumstances and conditions of a similar frequency.
“We are all vibrational beings. You’re like a receiving mechanism that when you set your tuner to the station, you’re going to hear what’s playing. Whatever you are focused upon is the way you set your tuner, and when you focus there for as little as 17 seconds, you activate that vibration within you. Once you activate a vibration within you, Law of Attraction begins responding to that vibration, and you’re off and running—whether it’s something wanted or unwanted.” —Abraham
Again, I think most of us know this is how it works, this is what’s happening, this is how we attract. And yet, we can lose sight of it.
What station are you tuned to with your vibration? And because that’s the station you are tuned to, what’s playing? What life experience will you get?
Whatever you are focused on is the way you set your tuner.
- If you are focused on the stack of bills and feeling worry, you are setting your tuner and activating the vibration of worry.
- If you are focused on the project at work that’s due tomorrow and feeling overwhelm, you are setting your tuner and activating the vibration of overwhelm.
You are a vibrational being. You are receiving a life experience that matches your vibration.
“The thoughts you think relative to money, relationships, home, business, or every subject, cause a vibrational environment that brings to you the people and circumstances that surround you. Everything that comes to you is about what you’ve got going on vibrationally, and, what you’ve got going on vibrationally is usually because of what you are observing. But it does not have to be.” —Abraham
So that’s an interesting point, right? Your vibration is often because of what you are observing. And that’s OK, if what you are observing is pleasing to you, but what if it’s not?
Then you are observing something unwanted and offering a vibration that corresponds, and so Law of Attraction delivers more that matches that vibration of unwanted. Which means, of course, more unwanted.
Let’s revisit this: “The thoughts you think relative to money, relationships, home, business, or every subject, cause a vibrational environment…”
- What are your thoughts about money? What is the vibrational environment those thoughts create relative to money?
- What are your thoughts about relationships? What is the vibrational environment your thoughts create relative to relationships?
Because whatever vibrational environment you have created is going to attract what then shows up in your life experience.
Too often we are focused on what we don’t want relative to a subject.
We are focused on the lack of money. We are focused on the absence of a relationship. Too often we are focused on a subject in such a way that the vibration we offer only attracts more lack and absence.
If what you have right now in your life relative to a subject, like money or relationships, is not what you want, then continuing to focus on what-is and continuing to maintain that same vibrational environment is not serving you.
“You can’t focus upon something that bothers you and something that doesn’t bother you at the same time, and in the moment you withdraw your attention from what’s bothering you, your vibration is going to rise.” —Abraham
When your vibration rises, you’ve improved your point of attraction. Your improved point of attraction, that raise in vibration, did not come from continuing to focus on what bothers you, what you don’t like, what you don’t want.
“Every subject is really two subjects, with what is wanted on one end of the stick, and the absence of what is wanted on the other end. Sometimes you are a perfect vibrational match to the unwanted end of the stick, but you don’t realize it because it feels normal to you.” —Abraham
This resonates to my core!
Before my obsession with all things Law of Attraction, I was definitely a vibrational match to the unwanted end of the stick on certain subjects—and didn’t even realize it because it did feel so normal.
For instance, in the past the vibrational environment I created around work was friction and frustration and overwhelm. I was a spot-on vibrational match to the unwanted end of the stick. And, believe me, it felt very normal. Awful, but normal.
I didn’t want my work life to be full of friction and frustration, always feeling overwhelmed. Always efforting and pushing and working hard to make things happen. I didn’t want that, but I was a vibrational match to all of it.
Do you know how I know? Because that’s what kept showing up for me.
I could change jobs, change companies, creating my own company—none of that mattered. I was a vibrational match to the unwanted end of the stick and so I kept getting the unwanted end of the stick.
Super low vibe, but it’s what felt normal.
“No desire, no matter what the subject, can manifest into your experience as long as there is a vibrational difference between the desire and your practiced vibration.” —Abraham
No wiser words than those.
Is there a vibrational difference between your desire and your practiced vibration? What is your practiced vibration?
Is your vibration attracting what you want?
This is a super useful question that can help you look at what’s going on in your life from different vantage points.
You can ask and answer the question straight on with a yes or no. As in, are you currently attracting what you want? Are you getting what you want? Are you feeling the way you want to feel? Are your desires unfolding for you? If yes, then I would say your vibration is attracting what you want.
If the answer is no, that simply means you have some vibrational work to do. All good!
You can also shine a spotlight on the vibration you have been offering. Put words to it. Describe it.
For instance, someone might say, My go-to vibration this year has been feeling like I’m missing out. Or someone could say, Now that I think about it, the past few weeks I’ve been feeling overwhelm, so I guess that’s been my vibration. Or, Today I’ve been offering the vibration of positive expectation.
Once you have clarity about the vibration you’ve been offering, connect the dots to what that vibration is attracting and will continue to attract. And then, of course, you can ask yourself, Is what I’m attracting what I want?
Another way to use the question—Is your vibration attracting what you want?—is to ask the question and work backwards, if you will. What I mean by that is notice what you’re attracting and then figure out that means in terms of the vibration you’ve been offering.
- If you are attracting lots of closed doors to something you want, what does that tell you about your vibration?
- If you are attracting discord in your relationships, what does that tell you about your vibration?
When I do this in my life—look at what I’m attracting and then figure out what that means in terms of my vibrational offering, I don’t do to beat myself up or feel like I’ve failed or even that anything has gone wrong.
I simply look at it as an equation. If I give X with my vibration, then it makes sense that I will receive X in return in what shows up. And so if I want to create something different than what I have been creating, I will want to offer a different vibration that will attract what I want.
“The Universe is not punishing you or blessing you. The Universe is responding to the vibrational attitude that you are emitting.” —Abraham
The important thing here is to remember why you want to be aware of your vibration.
Very simply, you are going to get more of what you are feeling. You are going to get more in life that matches your vibration.
What you give is what you will receive.
“Just because something hasn’t manifested doesn’t mean that it can’t. You are not miles away from what you want, and you are not years or hours or months or weeks or days away from what you want. You’re only vibrations away from what you want.” —Abraham
I absolutely love this concept. Manifesting is not about time. It’s not about effort. It’s about vibration. It’s always and only about vibration.
Let me share three pointers when it comes to offering your vibration on purpose—to offer a vibration that allows what it is you are wanting to manifest.
First: Notice the way you feel.
In other words, notice the vibration you are offering. If you are rarely aware of how you feel, then how will you know what vibration you are offering to which Law of Attraction is responding?
“The only thing that matters is what you are doing right now in your vibration. And you can tell what you are doing in your vibration right now by the way you feel.” —Abraham
If you are not aware of how you feel, you cannot offer your vibration on purpose.
Start noticing the way you feel. Negative emotion means you have set your tuner to something that is attracting in a way that does not serve you and will not please you.
At any moment, you can know what you are doing in your vibration by how you feel. And you can keep it super simple. Positive emotion or negative emotion. Feel good or feel bad. Which is it?
Start noticing.
Of course, what goes hand-in-hand with noticing how you feel is to prioritize feeling good. So the second bit of guidance I would offer is make feeling good your #1 priority.
Or as Abraham says: “Give your undivided attention to your job of feeling good.”
Feeling good is your job! Are you good at your job?
Like attracts like. When you feel good, you attract circumstances and conditions, people and events, situations and things that match your feel-good frequency.
Some of my clients come to coaching because they’ve been giving their undivided attention to getting things done; feeling good is an afterthought, at best. And because feeling good is not a priority, it’s showing up in what is manifesting—or not manifesting.
I can tell the difference in what manifests for me when I prioritize feeling good versus when I don’t. It’s pretty drastic.
As you think about your life experience, perhaps you would say the same. Do you notice how feeling good is fuel for manifesting? How feeling good makes manifesting so much easier?
Notice how you feel and make it your job to feel good.
The third piece of guidance I would offer: Match the vibration of your desire.
Think about what you are wanting. When what you want manifests, what will your vibration be?
“Offer a vibration that matches your desire rather than offering a vibration that keeps matching what is.” —Abraham
This is a big opportunity for most of us. Are you offering a vibration that matches what-is—and yet you want what-is to be different? Is there a vibrational gap between the vibration you are offering and the vibration of your desire?
There’s a really simply way to think about this: How will you feel when you get what you want? Are you feeling that way now?
For instance, one of my clients wants a better relationship with her husband. She will feel love and acceptance when her relationship improves. In the meantime, she is feeling frustrated and angry. That means she is offering a vibration that does not match her desire, which means her desire cannot manifest.
“Never mind what is. Imagine it the way you want it to be so that your vibration is a match to your desire. When your vibration is a match to your desire, all things in your experience will gravitate to meet that match every time.” —Abraham
To attract what you want it really is as simple as:
- Notice how you feel.
- Prioritize feeling good.
- Match the vibration of your desire.
“We are not wanting you to seek control over your environment at all. We want you to seek control over your vibration and Law of Attraction will take care of the environment.” —Abraham
