I’m going to talk about how to get what you want. But let’s start with the reason you haven’t already gotten what you want.
Abraham says: “The reason you have not already gotten what you desire is because you are holding yourself in a vibrational holding pattern that does not match the vibration of your desire. That is the only reason—ever!”
In other words, your current vibration does not match the vibration of what you want.
It’s really this simple: You can’t get what you want in the future unless you align vibrationally with that desire in the present.
This is Law of Attraction 101: Like attracts like.
You attract what you are in vibrational harmony with.
So if you want the loving relationship, the thriving business, the healthy body, then you have to align vibrationally with your desire here and now.
But the problem for many of us is we are waiting until we get the shiny or have the experience we want before we feel a certain way.
We are waiting for the outcome to manifest and then we’ll vibrationally line up.
- When my Etsy shop is successful, I’ll experience positive expectation.
- When I get the raise, I’ll feel secure.
- When I finally retire, I’ll experience freedom.
- When my health improves, I’ll feel empowered.
But the Law of Attraction doesn’t work that way.
We are waiting until x, y, or z happens before we feel the way we want to feel. That means we are not in vibrational alignment NOW with the thing that we want.
In his brilliant book, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, Joe Dispenza challenges us to be quantum creators. Here’s what he has to say:
“The new model of reality challenges us, as quantum creators, to change something within us—in mind and body, in our thoughts and feelings—before we can experience the physical evidence with our senses. Can you give thanks and feel the elevated emotions associated with a desired event before it occurs? Can you imagine that reality so completely that you begin to be in that future life now? In terms of quantum creating, can you give thanks for something that exists as a potential in the quantum field but has not yet happened in your reality? If so, you are moving from cause and effect (waiting for something outside of you to make a change inside of you) to causing an effect (changing something inside of you to produce an effect outside of you).” —Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
That, my friends, is aligning with the vibration of what you desire!
So let’s start at the beginning. What do I mean by vibration?
You are constantly giving off vibrations based on what you think and feel.
“What you think about activates a vibration within you.” —Abraham
- When you think X, you feel empowered and optimistic.
- When you think Y, you feel disappointed and worried.
What you’re thinking and giving your attention to causes a vibration within you. And the Universe responds to this vibration.
Abraham says: “The Universe doesn’t hear what you are saying. It feels the vibration you are offering.”
This is so important because we can say all the right words, but if our emotions don’t match up, then it’s our emotions the Universe is responding to.
“The only thing that matters is what you are doing right now in your vibration. And you can tell what you are doing right now by the way you feel.” —Abraham
So when you think about that raise you want or the perfect relationship you’d like to have, how do you feel?
- Do you want the raise, but doubt you’ll get it?
- Do you want the relationship, but feel lonely?
The Universe is responding to your doubt and to your loneliness—because that’s the vibration you’re giving off.
So it’s not enough to desire something—the raise, the relationship.
You have to align with the vibration of what you want as if you already have it.
That means getting very clear about how you’ll feel when you get the raise—and then feeling that way now. Perhaps you think getting the raise will enable you to feel empowered and optimistic. OK, so feel that way now—even before the raise manifests.
Same is true for the relationship. How will you feel when you’re in the relationship? Not lonely, which is the vibration the Universe is currently responding to. No, you’ll feel love and appreciation. So it’s important to align with those feelings now.
“You cannot let your vibrational offering come only in response to what-is and then ever change what-is. You must find a way of feeling the excitement or satisfaction of your currently unrealized dreams before those dreams can become your reality. Find a way to deliberately imagine a scenario for the purpose of offering a vibration and for the purpose of the Law of Attraction matching your vibration with a real-life manifestation. … When you ask for the manifestation prior to the vibration, you ask the impossible. When you are willing to offer the vibration before the manifestation—all things are possible. It is Law.” —Abraham
Based on your current vibration, what are you attracting into your life?
For instance, “Feelings of love, joy, passion, exhilaration, fun, interest… are indications of your vibrational match to Well-Being.” —Abraham
That makes sense, right? When you’re feeling love and joy and fun, of course you’re a vibrational match to Well-Being.
Abraham says: “I like knowing that my vibration equals my point of attraction, and that I can change my point of attraction simply by shifting my vibration.”
Always keep that in mind: Your vibration equals your point of attraction. Your vibration is based on the emotions you’re experiencing. And those emotions are caused by your thoughts and what you’re giving your attention to.
But let’s suppose you’re not feeling love and joy, fun and interest.
- What’s your point of attraction when you’re feeling anxious, worried, and confused?
- Or when you’re feeling hurt and angry and resentful?
- What is your point of attraction when you feel frustrated, overwhelmed and stressed out?
”You cannot feel poor (and vibrate poor) and thrive. Abundance cannot find you unless you offer a vibration of abundance.” —Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness
Which means whatever you are looking for cannot find you unless you are offering a vibration that’s in alignment with what you want.
That’s true no matter what it is you are wanting—more money, greater freedom, better relationships. You have to tune yourself to the vibrational frequency of your desire—now, before it manifests. Because that’s the very thing required for it to manifest.
The things we want—our desires, solutions to our problems, answers to our questions—these all manifest when we are in vibrational harmony with them. When we’re vibrating at the same frequency.
“When you find the emotion of it, you have nailed the vibration of it.” —Abraham
When you can find and feel the emotion of what it is you want, you will have aligned with the vibration of it.
Whatever it is you desire—whether it be an experience you want to have, a shiny penny you want to acquire, or a state of being you want to embody—your aim is to go ahead and feel NOW how you’ll feel when you get what you want.
Abraham says: ”If you want to effect substantial change in your life experience, you have to offer substantially different vibrations, which means you must think thoughts that feel different as you think them.” —Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness
Or as Joe Dispenza says: “You have to feel as though whatever you want is in your reality at this very moment. Thus, your body (which only understands feelings) must be convinced that it has the emotional quotient of the future experience, happening to you now.” —Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
Clients have asked me if this is about acting as if.
So act as if you already have the promotion or act as if you’re already at your ideal body weight.
But what I’m talking about is different than acting as if.
First and foremost, what I’m suggesting is feeling as if. Feeling as if you already have the promotion. Feeling as if you’re already at your ideal body weight.
And remember: Your thoughts cause your feelings, so I’m also suggesting you think on purpose. Because if you think on purpose that will give you control of your vibration.
“Every thought that you think has its own vibrational frequency.” —Abraham
And so when you’re offering your thoughts and feelings on purpose, with intention, then you WILL act as if. And it will happen naturally. But it’s the thoughts and feelings that come first, before any actions.
So many of us are used to efforting our way to what we want. And sometimes all that efforting has been in a misguided attempt to act as if.
I want your actions toward what you want to come after you have managed your thoughts and feelings. Because then you will take inspired, intuitive action. You won’t be efforting and struggling to go upstream to get what you want.
I love this from Abraham: “So, think as long as it’s fun, and try as long as it’s easy. And speak as long as it feels good. Otherwise, take a nap.”
Because when you care about the vibration you’re offering, you want fun and easy. You want to feel good.
And sometimes, when you simply aren’t able to tap into fun and easy and feeling good, then a nap is a fantastic option. Because it lets you take a break, and then hopefully when you wake up, you can now offer a vibration that attracts what you really want.
I want you to have everything you want.
To that end, I want you to put yourself in a vibrational place of receiving all that you are asking for. It’s time to align with the vibration of what you want.
