To better understand the Law of Attraction, see yourself as a magnet attracting unto you the essence of that which you are thinking and feeling. And so, if you are feeling fat, you cannot attract thin. If you feel poor, you cannot attract prosperity, and so on. It defies Law.
—The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham
Feeling good
According to Law of Attraction, nothing is more important than to feel good.
Because when you feel good, you attract more good feelings—and more good things—into your life. You attract more of what you want.
The opposite is true too. When you feel bad, you attract more of those negative emotions into your life. Along with stuff you don’t want.
So when you feel frustrated, pessimistic, disappointed, worried, angry, powerless, or fearful, you attract more situations into your life to be frustrated, pessimistic, disappointed, worried, angry, powerless, and fearful about.
In other words: The better it gets, the better it gets and the worse it gets, the worse it gets.
Postponing joy
But some of you reading this right now don’t think you have a right to feel good. Or you’re waiting to put all the pieces in place (get the promotion, lose 20 pounds, find a mate) before you’re allowed to feel good.
That’s because you have it reversed.
You think you’ll feel good when you lose 20 pounds. But it’s by feeling good now—by making joy a priority now—that attracts what you want into your life.
Like attracts like
Law of Attraction says that which is like unto itself is drawn.
This means when you experience emotions on the positive end of the emotional scale—joy, empowerment, freedom, love, appreciation, enthusiasm, happiness, positive expectation, optimism—you attract more and more of these high-vibe feelings into your life.
Joy begets more joy. And more joyful circumstances.
Appreciation begets appreciation. And more things to appreciate.
Including the job promotion, weight loss, and a great relationship.
All good things are waiting for you. Feeling good is the way to them.
A joyful assignment
Your emotions are the outward manifestation of your thoughts. By that I mean you feel your thinking.
Here’s an assignment to get your thoughts in the direction of joy. Journal your answers to these simple, yet profound questions.
- What are all the positive emotions you can think of? Create a list of emotions you would like to experience.
- Which of these emotions are you currently experiencing on a regular basis?
- What’s in the way of feeling these emotions now?
- What specific thoughts can you choose to think in order to experience the positive emotions you listed above?
