Have you ever come upon a quote that is just what you need to hear? A saying that seems written just for you and speaks to what you are going through. A saying that resonates in your core as truth. A quote offering guidance that feels so perfectly tailored you have an inner knowing: This is the way forward.
I hope you have had the kind of experience I’m describing because it is delicious when it happens. I had it the other day when I came across an Abraham quote that rang all those bells for me.
Of course, you will have to see if this quote rings them for you, too. Regardless, I’m confident you will find value, as always, in a little wisdom from Abraham.
Let me share the quote.
“You are the owner of all that you perceive. But you can’t perceive apart from your vibration. Feel your way, little-by-little, into a greater sense of abundance, by looking for the treasures that the Universe is offering you on a day-to-day basis.” —Abraham
Again, this rang all those bells for me—It was just what I needed to hear and seemed written especially for this season in my life. I felt the truth of it. And, last but not least, Abraham offered me clear direction and guidance.
There are three essentials to this quote that are really worth internalizing. Which means I don’t want you to just hear the quote and think, Yeah, that sounds about right, and then leave it there. Instead, I invite you to internalize this insight so you actually change how you show up, and then Law of Attraction can respond in kind.
Let me share my reading and interpretation. We’ll start at the beginning…
“You are the owner of all that you perceive.”
Let’s talk about what this means and why it’s important.
I am the owner of all that I perceive.
This is about taking responsibility. It’s a call to take responsibility that you are the owner of all that you perceive. I don’t see this in a punitive or blame sort of way. Instead, I interpret this in a very empowering way.
If I am the owner of all that I perceive, then I can change my perception and my perspective. I can absolutely change what I see.
What does it mean to be the owner of all that I perceive? It means I alone—not others and not circumstances—I am the owner, the master, the decider, the filter of what I perceive.
In other words, I am responsible for what I notice. I am responsible for what I give my attention to. I am responsible for what I choose as the focus of my awareness. I am responsible for what I perceive.
This is also about claiming power. Because there is power when you embrace that you are the owner of all that you perceive.
No one else can perceive for you because you are the thinker of your thoughts. Others may think differently and have different opinions, but you are the owner of your thoughts. And because you are the thinker of your thoughts, you are in control of how you feel and the vibration you offer.
This opening line of the quote was a bit of a wake-up call for me. It wasn’t that it was new to me, but it was a very plain-speaking reminder of what I already knew.
Jennifer, you are the owner of all that you perceive. You are responsible. And if you don’t like what you’ve created on some particular subject, now is the time to accept responsibility and claim ownership of the perception.
Abraham goes on to say…
“But you can’t perceive apart from your vibration.”
Again, let’s talk about what this means and why it’s important.
I cannot perceive apart from my vibration.
- If the vibration I offer is fear, then how I see the world around me—what I notice—will align with fear.
- If the vibration I offer is discouragement, then how I see the world will align with that emotion.
Let me say it another way: I cannot notice all the high vibe around me when I feel low vibe. When I’m at the bottom of the emotional scale and a friend tells me to look on the bright side and be positive and perhaps points out things I should be grateful for, I’m more likely to be annoyed than to feel uplifted.
That’s because I don’t have access to love and joy and appreciation when I’m vibrating at fear and powerlessness and despair.
Or let me make it a little less extreme, but still very true: I don’t have access to empowerment and freedom at the top of the emotional scale when I’m vibrating in the middle at frustration and irritation.
I simply won’t notice what is apart from my vibration. It doesn’t mean wonderful things are not there or are not available to notice. But it does mean I won’t perceive them because they do not align with the vibrational frequency I’m on.
“You’re like a receiving mechanism that when you set your tuner to the station, you’re going to hear what’s playing.” —Abraham
Your vibration is like that setting on a radio dial. If your vibration is anger, then that’s the frequency from which you will perceive. You won’t hear, see, perceive what’s playing at love or joy. Just as you wouldn’t hear what’s playing at 101.2 if you set your radio dial to 96.4.
You are a receiving mechanism and you set your tuner to the station with your vibration. And, in turn, you’re going to hear what’s playing on that frequency. If you have your tuner set to the station of worry, then what you notice will be all the things that align with worry.
Again, I think it’s a wake-up call to realize that you can’t perceive apart from your vibration. Because if what you want is at the frequency of passion and happiness or excitement and freedom, then staying tuned with your vibration to lower vibe emotions means you will not receive what you want.
And then next from Abraham is…
“Feel your way, little-by-little, into a greater sense of abundance, by looking for the treasures that the Universe is offering you on a day-to-day basis.”
Once again, let’s talk about what this means and why it’s important.
Abraham is saying it’s not a leap from the bottom of the emotional scale to the top. It’s not about going from despair to joy. It’s not about going from powerlessness to empowerment. Instead, it’s about feeling your way little by little.
And how do you do this?
You do this one thought at a time. You do this with a single thought that offers relief. And then another thought that offers relief. And another, little by little.
And which thoughts will offer relief? Which thoughts are going to feel better?
Abraham says it’s about looking for the treasures that the Universe is offering you each day. But what does this mean? What treasures?
Especially when your day or week or month isn’t going the way you want. What treasures when you haven’t manifested the job or money or relationship you want? What treasures when you are experiencing a lot of contrast?
Is the Universe really offering daily treasures? Where are they? What are they? How can I see them?
Well, even asking those questions puts you on the path to the treasures. The moment you start looking for things to appreciate, starting noticing what’s right, start focusing on what’s working, the moment you look for the treasures, you begin to find the treasures.
That’s not me pulling a fast one or playing with the words.
Quite simply: The moment you become a treasure seeker, you become a treasurer finder.
When you look for the treasures, as in look for what you want to see, as in focus on what you like and want, when you look for the treasures, it allows you, little by little, to feel your way up the emotional scale. To feel your way to a greater sense of abundance and alignment, to feel your way to what feels good.
This is that clear guidance I was talking about. Clear guidance from Abraham…
- about trusting the Universe and also doing my part to align with the treasures
- about the OK-ness of moving up that emotional scale little-by-little
- about the supreme importance of the vibration I offer to which Law of Attraction responds
You have agency to tap into all the treasures the Universe provides.
Moving toward alignment in a gradual, incremental way offers a big payoff. Abundance in all things is available.
“The Universe is conspiring to give you everything that you want.” —Abraham
This is about looking for the treasures. Noticing the treasures. It’s about a desire and willingness to orient your awareness toward treasures.
- Is turning on the tap to get clean water a treasure? Absolutely!
- Is receiving a card in the mail from a friend a treasure? Of course!
- Is watching your child learn to read a treasure? Certainly!
But many of us, myself included, look past these types of treasures. We have set the bar much higher for what we consider to be a treasure.
At the same time, many of us, myself included at times, are not orienting our awareness and attention toward treasures. We do not have the deliberate intention to look for treasures.
Instead, we are focusing on things not wanted. Rather than treasure, our tuner is set to lack and absence.
I want you to be a treasure seeker and a treasure noticer.
I want you to embrace that the Universe is friendly and is, indeed, offering you treasures on a day-to-day basis.
I invite you to be willing to look for what you want to see. I invite you to be enthusiastically willing to feel your way, little-by-little into alignment and abundance.
“I’m on an eternal treasure hunt of treasures because the Universe knows what I seek and knows where those treasures are and is pointing me on the path of least resistance to the adventure and the fun and the thrill that I have defined as my desire.” —Abraham
