Law of Attraction: self-love

Are you giving love?

Law of Attraction 101: What you give, you receive.

This means whatever you are giving by way of your vibrational offering, you are receiving. You are a magnet attracting circumstances and situations, people and things that match up to your vibration.

So what are you attracting? Are you attracting what you want? Are you attracting on the frequency of love?

Love is at the top of the emotional scale. It’s the highest vibe emotion. And yet love is not in the #1 spot alone. Alongside Love on the emotional scale we have Joy, Knowledge, Empowerment, Freedom, and Appreciation.

All those high vibe emotions are of the same frequency. So if you are giving love, you are attracting circumstances and conditions of a similar frequency to when you are giving appreciation or when you are giving joy.

Let me bring it all back to love. And, in particular, self-love. Because for too many of us, therein lies the rub. As in there is friction in our vibration when it comes to self-love.

You may be giving love to your partner and children. You may be giving love to your parents and siblings. You may be giving love to your friends, neighbors, and community…but are you giving love to yourself?

What is your vibration in relation to self-love?

If you are giving love to everyone around you, but not giving love to yourself, then you are lowering your point of attraction. And when you lower your point of attraction, you get in the way of manifesting what you want.

While there are many ways to look at self-love, as always, I want to look at this concept through the lens of Law of Attraction.

What does it mean to give love to yourself?

Well, you remember, of course, that your thoughts cause your feelings. So if you want to give love to yourself it starts with managing your mind. Self-love starts with your thinking, with your thoughts.

Are you thinking thoughts about yourself that allow you to feel good, to feel on the frequency of love? Or are you thinking thoughts about yourself that cause you to feel bad?

Thoughts like:

  • I can’t believe I said such a stupid thing in the meeting today. My boss must think I’m an idiot.
  • These clothes make me look so frumpy. I don’t know why I can’t get it together.
  • I didn’t get half the things on my To Do list done. Why can’t I be more productive?

These are examples of not giving love with your thoughts.

These thoughts do not make you feel good. These thoughts cause negative emotion in you. Negative emotions like unworthiness, insecurity, guilt.

“Self-love is what you’re reaching for and if you don’t take the time to find self-love, then you can’t possibly find the state of allowing because that’s the basis of your point of attraction.” —Abraham

Oh, wow—did you hear that? Self-love is what you’re reaching for.

I want you to be honest: Is self-love what you’ve been reaching for? Or, like many of my clients, have you been believing you can give love externally to those around you—but not to yourself—and still be a magnet for what you want? Abraham is saying it doesn’t work that way.

Self-love is so incredibly important. Self love puts you on the pathway to allowing all the things you’ve been wanting. Self-love is what underpins your very point of attraction.

“While it’s a wonderful thing to experience romantic love, the most important love we can attain is Self-Love.” —Louise Hay

“Appreciation and self-love are the most important tools that you could ever nurture. Appreciation of others and the appreciation of yourself is the closest vibrational match to your Source Energy of anything that we’ve ever witnessed anywhere in the Universe.” —Abraham

Louise and Abraham are in agreement: Self-love is incredibly important. And yet many of us are walking around with this notion that we can somehow love others enough to compensate for not loving ourselves. That we can love on everyone else and that makes up for not loving ourselves.

We act as if our lack of self-love has no real consequences. From a Law of Attraction perspective it most certainly does!

“Love of self and love of life connects us with the prosperity of the Universe.” —Louise Hay

Imagine then what is happening when you do not practice self-love. You are essentially disconnected from the prosperity of the Universe. Prosperity in the broadest sense of that word.

I’ve always liked Catherine Ponder’s take on this:

“Indeed, you are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health, happiness and plenty in your world.” —Catherine Ponder

So this is to say: Self-love connects you to peace, health, happiness, and plenty in your world. To me that means love of self is the pathway to manifesting what you want. Self-love is absolutely fuel for creating, for attracting, for manifesting.

So let’s be clear: You can think thoughts about yourself that cause you to feel either positive or negative emotion. You have that choice.

And when you think thoughts about yourself that cause you to feel negative emotion, you are not giving love.

“You work too hard, and it gets you no where, you try too hard, and it gets you no where, you don’t love yourself enough and that gets you no where. We want you to practice your joyful self-loving point of attraction.” —Abraham

The takeaway is to start practicing your joyful self-loving point of attraction.

To do this, start noticing your thoughts in relation to self-love. Become aware of when you are giving love to yourself and when you are not.

You can ask this question about any thought: Am I giving love? With this thought, am I giving love?

Of course, I want you to ask this in a gentle way. Be genuinely curious.

This isn’t about beating yourself up when you notice you are not giving yourself love with your thoughts. Beating yourself up is exactly the opposite of what you want because that’s simply more disconnection from giving love.

So when you notice you are not giving love with your thoughts, don’t scold yourself and pile on. Instead, simply notice and recognize you are at the crossroads of a choice. And the choice you make will affect your vibration and point of attraction.

  • One pathway, the pathway of self-love, will serve you and raise your vibration and improve your point of attraction and allow you to manifest with greater ease.
  • The other pathway of not giving yourself love will cause you to feel negative emotion of some variety, will lower your vibration and point of attraction, and make it more difficult to manifest what you want..

“We want you to look at yourself and adore yourself. If you will make this small effort to appreciate you and what is yours now, you will soften, so quickly, any resistance that has been keeping you apart from the things you want.” —Abraham

I’m much nicer to myself since rediscovering Law of Attraction.

I’ve embraced that self-love and self-appreciation are truly key to manifesting.

“Love is the miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.” —Louise Hay

Regardless of your past relationship to self-love, today is a new day, a fresh start. I encourage you to look at self-love as a key tool in your LoA manifesting toolkit.

  • Say goodbye to loving all those around you, yet leaving yourself out.
  • Say goodbye to cataloging your shortcomings.
  • Say goodbye to the despair of comparison and living others’ expectations.

“When you trust in yourself, you are trusting in the same wisdom that created you. When you fail to trust in yourself, when you fail to love yourself, you are denying your own Divinity, and therefore attracting the opposite of what The Source is.” —Wayne Dyer

Have no doubt: Self-love is your manifesting fuel. Self-love is the way to allow all the desires you have in your Vortex.

It’s time to love and appreciate yourself. It’s time to embrace self-love.

So give love. Give love to yourself.
