What-is & Wanted vs. Unwanted: what-is

Facing reality is a really, really bad idea unless you want to create more of what-is.

Look at what-is.’ And we say to you, if you are able to see only what-is—then by the Law of Attraction, you will create only more of what-is….You must be able to put your thoughts beyond what-is in order to attract something different or something more.” —The Law of Attraction

Something different, something more

Are you interested in attracting something different or something more? Is there a change you’d like in your life? Some goal you’re after or experience you want to have? Is there some amazing shiny penny you want to acquire?

Or maybe the change you really want is simply to feel better. As a client recently told me, I want to be happier. There’s nothing really wrong, but I’m just not as happy as I could be.

In order to attract something different or something more, you have to get your attention off what-is. Because attention to what-is creates more of what-is.

What is wanted

Giving attention to what is wanted is choosing what kind of story you want to tell. What kind of future you want to have. What kind of dreams you want to go after. Doesn’t that sound juicy?

“By deliberately changing your thoughts—rather than merely observing what is happening around you—you will begin to change the vibrational patterns to which the Law of Attraction is responding.” —The Law of Attraction

When you’re focused on what-is, that’s the vibration you’re activating. That’s what you’re attracting. Which means if what-is is NOT what you want, then you don’t want to activate that vibration.

Telltale signs

But it’s easy to focus on what-is without even really realizing it. Here are two signs you’re focused on what-is:

  • You’re complaining.
  • You’re focused on the problem.

When you’re complaining or when you’re attention is on the problem, you’re focused on what-is—and in a way that doesn’t serve you. The vibration of complaint and the vibration of the problem are not creating a point of attraction that you want.

Think about the difference in vibration between the problem and the solution. Feel the difference in vibration between complaining and appreciating. Big difference, right?

“In order for things to change, you have to see them as you want them to be rather than continuing to observe them as they are. The majority of the thoughts that you probably think are about the things that you are observing, which means that what-is dominates your focus, attention, vibration, and therefore your point of attraction.” —The Law of Attraction

We can also bring the past and the future into what-is by:

  • Rehashing the past
  • Worrying about the future

“The Universe, which is responding to the thoughts that you are thinking, does not distinguish between a thought brought about by your observation of some reality you have witnessed and a thought brought about by your imagination. In either case, the thought equals your point of attraction—and if you focus upon it long enough, it will become your reality.” —The Law of Attraction

When you’re rehashing the past—focused on some problem or pain, some disappointment or discouragement—even though it’s in the past, your focus is bringing the past into your present.

Your focus on the past becomes your what-is because the Universe is just responding to the thoughts you’re thinking. The same is true when you’re worrying about the future. You’re making that worry your what-is.

Bottom line: Complaining about the present, focusing on the problem, rehashing the past, and worrying about the future are all non-starters.

A new reality

It really is as simple as this: “You can’t create a new reality while you’ve got your undivided attention upon the reality that exists.” —Abraham

So if you’re interested in a new reality—whether in a single specific area of your life or in your life as a whole—you must take your attention off what-is.

It doesn’t take much, if any, effort to observe what’s around you. For most of us, that’s all we do, observe and react, observe and react.

But if what’s around you—whether at home or in your relationships, at your workplace or in your community—if it’s not what you want, then get your focus off it.

“Spend more time focused upon your dream than upon the reality. The reality gives birth to the dream…but the dream is where you are wanting to put your attention.” —Abraham

I love that. Your reality gives birth to your dream. But once you experience your reality, which is the contrast that clarifies what you don’t want and, in turn, what you do want, then it’s time to turn your attention only to what you do want.

The bottom line is this: If you want to attract positive change in your experience, disregard how things are. Get your attention off what-is. Stop telling the story of what-is. Stop complaining about and regurgitating what-is.

A different vibration, a different result

Instead, give your attention to the way you want things to be. Tell the story of how you prefer things to be. The Law of Attraction will respond as the different vibration of what is wanted will create a different result.

“Your emotional attention to what-is will root you like a tree to this spot, but an emotional (happy) vision of what you would like to begin attracting into your experience will bring you those changes.” —The Law of Attraction

Your attention on what-is creates more of what is. Period.

Which means you need to imagine and visualize and verbalize the new story of what you want.

“Get your eyes, words, and thoughts off what-is, and put them purely on what you now want. The more you think and speak of what you want, the faster what you want will be yours.” —The Law of Attraction

I encourage you to be intentional about the story you tell. Your new and improved story. Focus on what’s right, what’s working, what you like. Look for what you want to see. Appreciate and look for positive aspects.
