In a good book the best is between the lines. –Swedish Proverb
Here’s what I’m currently reading—
Brené Brown is a hero of mine, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new book, Rising Strong. Finally it’s here!
If you’re not familiar with her other books, check them out. Here’s the short and sweet of how Brené describes them –
The Gifts of Imperfection — Be you.
Daring Greatly — Be all in.
Rising Strong — Fall. Get up. Try again.
Falling. Getting up. Trying again. These are the true skills in life.
Because if we’re going to fully show up in our lives and go from dreaming to doing, inevitably there will be disappointment and struggle, setbacks and missteps—even epic fails.
When I think about my life’s greatest teaching moments, most aren’t times of rainbows and unicorns. Instead, they’re times of struggle and heartbreak.
Times when I had a choice to stay down or…get back up. Try again. Open my heart again. Have courage, again.
I’m early into Rising Strong, but have already gotten my money’s worth learning about gold-plating grit and the badassery deficit.
I know I’ll stumble again and fall. And through Brené’s research and storytelling, I want to have cultivated the ability to rise strong. Will you join me in Rising Strong?
