Start, Stop & Change: running on fumes

A lot of people are running on fumes—their reserve tank is empty.

Are you one of them?

To have a reserve means having more than you need in areas of your life—like personal space, finances, time, energy, rest, etc.

Do you have reserves? Or are you running on empty in some area? (Maybe even more than one…)

For instance:

  • Do you have 6-12 months of living expenses in reserve? Or are you living paycheck to paycheck?
  • Do you have unscheduled time for spontaneity and spillover? Or are you booked back-to-back with no time to spare?
  • Do you regularly get 7-8 hours of restful sleep a night? Or is sleep the first thing you sacrifice to your overbusy life?

You get the idea.

Creating reserves is a guaranteed life upgrade. It’s the difference between you running your life and your life running you.

When you build reserves you can see and take life as it occurs. Rather than life acting upon you and happening to you, you are at choice.

Remember, reserves are when you have more than enough!

Here’s your mini mission

Identify an area where you feel as if life is happening to you. Make the decision to give that area the attention it deserves by creating adequate reserves.
