Law of Attraction: Law of Attraction

Every now and again, someone tells me Law of Attraction isn’t working for them. They say they are doing all the “right” LoA things, but what they want just isn’t manifesting. They see Law of Attraction working in the lives of others, but not theirs.

It can certainly seem like that because we’re not able to see our own blind spots.

When someone tells me Law of Attraction isn’t working, I ask them to tell me what they want to manifest. I ask them to tell me how they’ve been feeling and what they’ve been doing.

When I dig a little deeper, it’s clear there is a vibrational gap. It’s clear Law of Attraction is responding exactly and precisely to the vibration she is offering.

This post is essentially my response to someone saying Law of Attraction doesn’t work for me. If you’ve ever had that thought, read on. And even if you haven’t had that particular thought, I hope this post shines a light on opportunities you have to fine tune your vibration so Law of Attraction can respond with all the good things you are wanting to create in your life.

So let me begin with three specific examples of women who shared some version of Law of Attraction isn’t working for me.

  • Ellen says her greatest desire is to find a life partner, but Law of Attraction has not responded. She’s asked, she believes, but she has not received. Ellen knows she’ll feel so happy when she finally meets her soulmate, but in the meantime she’s not feeling great about this area of her life.
  • Neisha started her own business two years ago, and doesn’t have as many clients as she’d like. She’s created a vision board, her favorite affirmation is clients are coming, and she’s doing lots of things to get clients. She feels like the Law of Attraction has not responded to all her positivity and action.
  • Chloe wants financial abundance. She knows appreciation is a high vibration and appreciates anything about her current reality that is abundant, from money already on the parking meter to a bigger than expected tax refund. But she notices others having a more abundant flow of money in their lives and feels envious.

In all these instances, Law of Attraction is very much at work. How do I know? Because Law of Attraction is always at work. 24/7, 365 days a year. For you, for me, for everyone.

Remember too: Law of Attraction isn’t judging you a good person or a bad person. Law of Attraction isn’t judging whether you are deserving of what you want.

“The Universe is not discriminating about the rightness or the wrongness of your request. It is here to accommodate all requests. All you have to do is be a Vibrational Match to your request, and the Universe will yield it to you.” —Abraham

Law of Attraction is responding to the vibration you offering. You are receiving what you are giving.

When it appears Law of Attraction isn’t working in your life, the thing to do is tend to your vibration. To clean up your vibration, to raise your vibration, to match your vibration to what you want.

That’s why I describe my coaching as a vibrational tune-up.

It is always your vibration that Law of Attraction is responding to. Not the words you say. Not whether you have a certain amount of money in the bank or a certain number of followers on social media. Not whether you meditated today or binge watched Netflix.

LoA is responding to your vibration. Law of Attraction is matching you up with circumstances, people, situations, events, opportunities, and things that are a vibrational match.

Let’s go back to those three scenarios I described and see what we can learn. Law of Attraction is already working in all three women’s lives, but not to the advantage of Ellen, Neisha, and Chloe.

Let’s see what the problem/opportunity might be for each woman. While these are their specific examples, listen for where there are similar opportunities in your life.

Let’s start with Ellen. Remember Ellen wants to find a life partner and knows she’ll be so happy when she finds her soulmate. The vibrational gap for Ellen is she does not feel now—before the soulmate shows up—as she’ll feel when her life partner comes into the picture.

She is not a vibrational match to what she wants. She is not a vibrational match to what she’s asked for. This is a very common reason LoA appears not to work. If you refuse to feel good until you get what you want, what you want cannot manifest.

Ellen has an opportunity to close that vibrational gap and feel now how she’ll feel then. This will put her in receiving mode for what she most wants.

Let’s move on to Neisha. You’ll recall she’s a business owner who wants more clients. She feels LoA hasn’t responded to her positivity and her action. The vibrational gap for Neisha is she is efforting to try to make what she wants happen.

Yes, she’s created a high vibe vision board and says positive-sounding affirmations, but she is efforting to get clients. She is constantly focused on how to get more clients, and the action she’s taking has a frantic energy to it.

Neisha has an opportunity to tap into the flow of inspired action. The Universe will respond when she releases the efforting and striving and trying to make things happen.

Let’s move on to Chloe who wants financial abundance. Chloe is really tapped into appreciating any and all abundance in her own life, which is fantastic. From big things to small things, she is always on the lookout for opportunities to feel appreciation.

However, she is also feeling jealous, which is #20 of 22 on the emotional scale, when she notices or thinks about others and money.

The vibrational gap is feeling low vibe about the very thing she wants: abundance. Being jealous of what others have is repelling the very thing Chloe wants for herself.

Chloe has an opportunity to appreciate abundance wherever she encounters it—in her life and in the lives of others. By celebrating the flow of money in the lives of others, Chloe makes herself a magnet for the flow of abundance in her own life.

“The reason you have not already gotten what you desire is because you are holding yourself in a vibrational holding pattern that does not match the vibration of your desire. That is the only reason—ever.” —Abraham

Is the vibration you’ve been offering—today, yesterday, last week—is the vibration you’ve been offering a match to what you want?

If not, that’s OK. In fact, in many ways that is a good thing because it means you now have a blueprint for moving forward. You have both diagnosed your problem and landed on the solution.

If you’ve been offering a vibration that does not match the vibration of your desire, you now know you need to tweak and tune up your vibration so it is a match.

Ellen, Niesha, and Chloe highlighted the need for a vibrational tune-up. As your takeaway, let me highlight five potential vibrational mismatches. See if any of these might be your opportunity.

1. Not being happy for others who have what you want.

“You cannot receive vibrationally something that you are not a vibrational match to. And so, bless those who are finding abundance. And in your blessing of them and their abundance, you will become abundant, too. But in your cursing of their abundance, you hold yourself apart from it. It is a law—it is a powerful law.” —Abraham

If you want a romantic partner, celebrate couples who are in love. If you want more money, applaud those who have financial abundance. If you want a promotion at work, be thrilled when you hear your cousin got promoted.

You get the point: Celebrate the essence of what you want wherever you see it. If you feel envious or resentful because someone has what you want, that’s your signal your vibration needs an adjustment.

2. Being focused on the absence or lack of what you want.

“When I have a desire, I’ve got to become a vibrational match to the desire. I can’t be over here aware that I don’t have it. I’ve got to somehow match it, which means I’ve got to be expectant of it.” —Abraham

All too often we are vibrating doubt and impatience rather than positive expectation and enthusiasm about what we want.

Being a vibrational match means feeling now how you will feel when what you want manifests. When what you want manifests into form, you won’t be focused on the lack of what you want, you won’t be doubtful about what you want or impatient about it.

It might seem a tall order—what Abraham is asking from you: I can’t be over here aware that I don’t have it.

But that is exactly what’s called for to close the vibrational gap between where you now stand and what you want to manifest.

3. Taking efforting action to make what you want happen.

“Your work is to go forth into this physical environment looking for things that are a match to joy, connecting to Source Energy, and then following with the inspired action.” —Abraham

There is a significant vibrational difference between efforting to try to make things happen versus taking inspired action that is in the downstream flow of your desire.

When I talk about this with a new client, very often she will realize this is what’s in the way. Efforting, forcing, hustling, striving—whatever you would call it, this behavior, this way of showing up, has an energy to it. And it is the energy of resistance.

And so while you will make things happen with all that action you are making yourself take, or thinking you should take, it is an entirely manual approach to manifestation.

I invite you to tune up your vibration by starting to distinguish between inspired action versus trying to make things happen. When you give up efforting, your vibration lifts.

4. Being focused on your current reality rather than what you want.

“Offer a vibration that matches your desire rather than offering a vibration that keeps matching what-is.” —Abraham

If you want something beyond what-is—and who of us doesn’t?—then you have to take your attention and thoughts and vibration off what-is.

If you want financial abundance, but keep your thoughts on the current reality of your bank account, your vibration is not going to allow what you want.

Give some thought to whether the vibration you have been offering is only or mostly in response to what-is. Because if that’s the case, you have such a wonderful opportunity to create a significant shift in your vibration.

If you aren’t sure how to offer a vibration that is different than what-is, book a coaching session with me and we’ll do just that.

5. Thinking that asking for what you want is enough.

“It’s not enough to be clear about what you want. You need to be a vibrational match to what you want.” —Abraham

Here’s a common scenario that comes up when I’m coaching a client. She has created a vision board about what she wants. The freedom and travel, the love and abundance. She has clarity about wanting X, Y, and Z.

She’s rightfully proud of this clarity because often it takes some inner work to get clear and acknowledge your true desires. But then she sits back, and I say that with so much love, as if the work is done.

Clarity about what you want is a beautiful thing. But it is not enough. Clarity is pretty much useless if you don’t match the vibration you offer to the vibration of your desire.

So clarity is cool. And then being a vibrational match is what allows the Law of Attraction to respond with all those wonderful things on your vision board.

“Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.” —Abraham
